Vestry Retreat – February 2016

Posted by Mary Martha Churchman on with 0 Comments

The five members of the Vestry newly elected to three year terms at the congregational meeting January 31– Emily Davis, Don George, Bradford Hardin, Darren Hekhuis, and Linda Sibert – joined continuing members Anna Alt-White, Hal Bean, Elliot Branch, Mary Martha Churchman, Denise Cormaney, Eric Goldman, and Melanie Lilliston at Roslyn, the Diocesan conference center in Richmond for a weekend retreat February 12-13.  Don and Darren were appointed during 2015 to serve until the next election to replace departing vestry members Nathan Harpine (whose term would have ended in 2015) and Burr Ault who had one more year.  They have now been elected to three year terms, so barring other resignations there will only be three vacancies at the next election in 2017  (Alt-White, Bean, and Lilliston).

The primary business of the retreat is to coalesce as a group and form the basis for working well together throughout the coming year, through prayer, discussion, and fellowship.

The Vestry elected Anna Alt-White as Senior Warden, Denise Cormaney as Junior Warden, and Elliot Branch as Treasurer.  Liaison responsibilities were realigned and designated as follows (Note that Vestry members coordinate with committee chairs and ministry leaders to bring issues before the Vestry as necessary):
