20s and 30s

The 20s and 30s ministry is a gathering of St. Georgians in (or near) that age group for fellowship, learning, and building community within the St. George's family. All are welcome regardless of where you are in life or on your faith journey: couples, singles, parents, nonparents . . . everyone!

We invite you to join us for "Nontrivial Pursuits" the second Sunday of each month! We gather at a restaurant or at St. George's to discuss issues of faith, theology, and the Christian life with each other and our clergy.

In addition to "Nontrivial Pursuits", we gather regularly for social activities and to support each other through our fellowship at happy hours, dinners, and brunches. We participate in the Shrine Mont parish retreat, help with parish events--such as Christmas caroling and the annual Blessing of Animals for the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi--and participate in regional 20s and 30s events with our Arlington Episcopalian neighbors and our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Shannon Johnston. We also meet during Lent and Advent for focused discussion of scripture appropriate to the season, to increase our observance of these important times in the liturgical year.

20s and 30s are also active in all aspects of life at St. George's and are an invaluable resource for each other in getting ideas and volunteers! Our members are youth group leaders, Sunday school teachers, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, committee members, vestry members, ministry coordinators, coffee hour hosts . . . the list goes on and on.
